Cleveland 588 RTX 2.0 Black Satin WedgesCleveland’s Most Versatile Wedges EverIn developing 588 RTX 2.0, priority No. 1 for Cleveland engineers was to create wedges that would generate exceptional spin for players, especially out of the rough. To accomplish that goal, three different face technologies were utilized in the design, which allowed Cleveland to reach the USGA maximum in terms of face roughness. The result are wedges that deliver maximum spin on full shots and shots played around the green from all turf and sand conditions. Additionally, Cleveland is again utilizing its user-friendly dot system to help golfers choose the right wedges for their game. Two-dot wedges are the 588 RTX 2.0 lineaTMs most standard option and will fit the widest variety of players, as they work well from all turf and sand conditions and for golfers with more neutral angles of attack. Players who have shallow angles of attack or who play most frequently on firm turf conditions will probably fare better with the one-dot model, while the three-dot model is a great choice for players who have steeper angles of attack or who typically play where turf and sand conditions are softer. The two-dot wedges come in lofts ranging from 46-64 degrees, while the one-dot and three-dot models are offered in lofts between 54 and 60 degrees. The 588 RTX 2.0 wedges are offered in Black Satin and Tour Satin finishes, as well as a number of custom finishes, and the stock shafts are True Temper Dynamic Gold.DetailsGrip Golf Pride Shaft True Temper Dynamic Gold Wedge Click the Enter Custom Specs tab above for custom shaft & grip options Ideal For:Golfers of all ability levels. The key, however, is to explore the dot system and how each model is designed to work. At that point, players can determine which wedges will be the best fit for their bag, and it may be that theyaTMll choose different models to best address all of the shots theyaTMll be faced with on the course. For players who would like a little588 Rotex Technology takes spin control to another level. 8% Deeper grooves and new micro-milled Rotex face pattern give these wedges the most surface roughness the USGA will allow. It’s spin 2.0
Fourth generation tour zip grooves feature 8% larger walls and sharper radii than ever before. Through testing we have seen that more grass, dirt, and moisture are channeled away from the face for cleaner contact and more consistent spin.
Laser milling fine tunes the roughness for more consistency and texture across the face. This allows Cleveland to reach the USGA roughness limit. Pushing this boundary lends itself to increased spin on pitch and chip shots.
